This effort is the result of news that Target Corp. donated $150,000 to a group that is running ads backing Minnesota Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom Emmer, who oppposes same-sex marriage. I particularly enjoy the classic liberal futility of buying the stuff and returning it, rather than just not shopping there. Of course, the point is letting Target KNOW they've lost the sale. If this boycott is going to impact Target, they'll notice it in sales, publicity stunts such as this one won't be needed.
