Ya think? This reminds me of an old SNL skit about a game show called "You can't Win! Round 1 was a huge barrel with 10,000 coins in it and you had to pick out the one that said "winner." Round too had a phone booth size black box with "somebody famous" inside, guess who? (turned out to be Bert Convey)
Republican health care reform plans are free-market reform based. Democrat plans are ultimately based (despite their denials) on the government in one fashion or another taking care of those who don't have health insurance. Obama in his Saturday radio address said he doesn't want political theater from either side. This entire charade is political theater! What he meant was he doesn't want anything to upstage his political theater where he tries to paint the GOP as unreasonable obstructionists. It's too late for the GOP to back out now; but what they should do is unveil what they bring to the table before the summit. Obama is doing this because he needs to politically. Republicans don't. They need to remember that.
