A key ingredient for show just how huge storms are when you photograph them is "scale." You get that with objects in the foreground or off to the side of the storm clouds. It could be a house, building, windmill, person..anything. Just something to compare the giant storm you're capturing...watch this video for great examples of "showing scale."
