OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ- WLUK) – Hundreds of people braved the cold water for a good cause in Oshkosh Saturday.
Participants took the Polar Plunge to raise money for Special Olympics Wisconsin.
During the plunge, temperatures at Menominee Park were in the low teens, with a wind chill in the single digits.
Despite the cold, people continue to come back year after year.
This year was Joe Oyler’s fifth plunge.
“It’s a great cause, it’s a lot of fun. It makes you feel alive in the middle of winter, something to look forward to.”
The 2018 Polar Plunge raised more than $392,000 for Special Olympics Wisconsin.
