Matthews on pins and needles

Clay Matthews admits he's not the patient sort.  Sidelined since October 6 when he fractured the base of his thumb against the Detroit Lions, Matthews was corralled by reporters after the team picture was taken at Lambeau Field this afternoon.   To repair what's called a Bennett fracture of the thumb, Matthews had pins inserted and the right hand casted for the past couple of weeks.  He confirmed today the pins are coming out next Monday and as far as returning to the field.....that remains up in the air.   Here's what Clay had to say about the thumb and about how the defense has fared without him the past three games, all victories.

Bear week is now underway.  Eddie Lacy said his position coach, Alex Van Pelt, told him to think of this game like Alabama-Auburn.  Lacy said this must be pretty serious because that rivalry sure was.  The team had brief meetings this morning, took the annual team photo and they'll reconvene Thursday for game plan installation and the first of three practices, pushed back a day because the NFL's most storied rivalry will write it's next chapter on Monday night at Lambeau Field.
