APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Fans at one local bar cheered on Aaron Rodgers in a new way, as host of Jeopardy!
For over 20 years, Jim’s Place in Appleton has played Jeopardy!
“It says a lot about this bar. The fact that we have intellectuals hanging out in a bar and wanting to play an intellectual game, although you can win free drinks for it so that’s exciting for people,” Jim’s Place manager Stacy Hoffman said.
Hoffman tells FOX 11when Jeopardy! is on, it’s kind of like church.
“It gets really quiet and serious and people take it seriously.”
The show has seen several guest hosts after the passing of longtime host Alex Trebek.
Now, it’s quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ turn.
“We knew Aaron was a really good Jeopardy! player, he won celebrity Jeopardy! so seeing him host was pretty neat,” Jeopardy! fan Joe Schmidt said.
“He was very natural at it. I thought he did a great job,” Jeopardy! fan Jay Dion said.
Supportive fans also included a former Jeopardy! contestant.
“He’s brilliant. There’s probably not much he can’t do as a television personality,” former Jeopardy! contestant David Henek said.
As much as fans enjoy seeing him on Jeopardy!, Dion tells FOX 11 they see first as the leader of the pack.
“I don’t want him to leave the Packers anytime soon. We need to get him to bring a couple more Super Bowl championships back to Green Bay so I don’t want him to run and be a game show host any time soon.”
Fans say they’re excited to see Aaron Rodgers continue his hosting duties over the next two weeks.
